this was one of the standout games of the weekend. manchester united came from behind to win in style, with bruno fernandes leading the way with a hat-trick. once united clicked into gear, the game opened up quickly and ipswich could not stop the momentum swinging against them.
chelsea 4-3 brighton
chelsea and brighton served up one of the most chaotic matches of the round. cole palmer got on the scoresheet, joão pedro put through his own net, and emi martinez made his debut in a match that seemed to change shape every few minutes. chelsea just about held on in the end after a wildly open contest.
liverpool 2-2 nottingham forest
forest looked set to leave anfield with a huge win, but victor muñoz struck late to rescue a point for liverpool. it was a dramatic finish and another reminder that even early in the season, small moments are already shaping the table.
newcastle 2-0 tottenham
newcastle picked up an impressive away win and never really let tottenham settle. it was a controlled performance, built on strong organisation and smart finishing, and it will feel like a big result this early in the campaign.
sunderland 1-0 fulham
sunderland earned a tight win thanks to wilson isidor's goal, and it was the kind of result that can build real belief. in a close game, they found the decisive moment and made it count.
leeds united 1-1 brentford
leeds left it late but still found a point through dominic calvert-lewin. brentford had looked on course for the win, only for leeds to grab a late equaliser and send the home crowd away with something to cheer.
hull city 1-0 coventry city
hull made it two wins from three with liam millar getting the winner. it was not the loudest result of the weekend, but it could be an important one as they look to build momentum.
